Use the information and tips below to help resolve issues that you might encounter using Smart Interop Publisher for MCAD translations.
Cannot translate MCAD files.
Smart Interop Publisher cannot translate MCAD files if the installation path contains Cyrillic characters (Russian, Japanese, and so forth).

Re-install Smart Interop Publisher to a path that does not contain any Cyrillic characters. Re-translate the source files.
For CATIA files in MCAD, file names containing non-English characters will not translate.
Cannot translate source files containing Non-English characters or localized paths.
Smart Interop Publisher cannot translate CATIA, NX Reader, CIS/2, or IGES file types, in general, because of limitations with non-English characters or localized paths. There are limitation with file names with non-ASCII characters. For NX Reader source files, there are limitations on localized PATHs without a locale setting.

To modify your source files so that you can use Smart Interop Publisher for translation, refer to the Interop section in the Product Documentation page on the Spatial Corporation website ((https://www.spatial.com). You can search the troubleshooting information using keywords such as 'limitations', 'non-English', 'non-ASCII', 'local paths', and 'locale settings' that pertain to your file type. After making your changes, try re-translating the source files.
Cannot translate SolidWorks source files.
Smart Interop Publisher does not support SolidWorks version 2019 and earlier source files containing embedded files saved with the Enable 3D Interconnect option selected.

Save the SolidWorks source and associated imported files using SolidWorks version 2020. Re-translate the SolidWorks source files.

Use the Dissolve Feature in the SolidWorks Modeler to convert the embedded files. Re-translate the SolidWorks source files.
Cannot export MCAD source files.
Cannot export MCAD source files into an IFC format.
