Smart Interop Publisher Version
16.2

You must have a Smart Interop Publisher translation license (SRP) and a format-specific license (such as IFC) for the selected target format and any custom mapping settings to take effect.

You can translate and export graphical data in source files to specific third-party target formats. Smart Interop Publisher provides the required property and class mapping template files listed below in your install location. The default location is C:\Program Files\SmartPlant\Interop Publisher\3DInteropMappingFiles.

Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) Target Mapping Process

  1. Perform the source file-to-Smart Interop Publisher schema mapping for specific properties. See Use custom mapping.

  2. (Optional) Perform any schema class mapping you may require. Before you begin, make a copy of the custom or generic mapping template files listed below, and then move them to a new folder location.

    • For all non-Smart 3D and third-party source files, you must define custom mapping in the following two steps.

      1. Make a copy and then edit the Custom[source format]ToR3DMapping.xls to handle the translation of your source file schema to the Smart Interop Publisher schema.

      2. Use CustomR3DToIFCMapping.xls to then map the Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence classes to IFC entities such as CR3DMember to IFCMember.

    • For Smart 3D source files, perform the class mapping in just one step by editing CustomP3DToIFCMapping.xls.

  3. Save your edits. You can now translate and export your source files to the Industry Foundation Classes target format using the Custom mapping option so that the software uses the edited mapping files.
