Keep units from the source file

Allows Smart Interop Publisher to use the unit system information available in the IFC source files. This option is enabled by default. Clear this option to set custom Master Units and Sub Units for the source files translated with the translation settings group you are currently defining. For any IFC source file, Smart Interop Publisher supports the units that are defined in the Translation Settings. For any other units in the source file, Smart Interop Publisher defaults to meters.

Calculate Geometric Quantities

Calculates the quantities for the structure objects listed below. This option is not active by default. Smart Interop Publisher lists any quantities not calculated in the log file if you have Logging (Project Settings) enabled in your project settings. You can see these quantities in Smart Review under the ISIP QuantitySet category.

Example ISIP QuantitySet in Smart Review:

Because Smart Interop Publisher derives quantities from the type of object graphic representation, not all of the listed quantities are computed for all objects. Every IFC object based on the type of graphic representation can have a different number of derived quantities.

For example, if there is a Wall object with IFCExtrudedAreaSolid representation, then all of the quantities for IFCWall are calculated: Length, Width, Height, Gross Side Area, Net Side Area, Gross Footprint Area, Net Footprint Area, Gross Volume, and Net Volume. However, if the Wall object has IfcFacetedBrep representation, Smart Interop Publisher calculates only a few quantities such as Height, Gross Footprint Area, Net Footprint Area, Gross Volume, and Net Volume.
