The A.20.06.11 Request for Rights screen can be used by both the normal user and the administrator with super user privilege.

If the screen is called by a normal user, he can insert all access rights, queryable disciplines, and privileges he needs to have for his project work. A normal user can only view his own requests.

To create a new request in any of the blocks of the screen, use the LOV to open a new window as shown below. Select the Sel check box for all access rights that should be assigned, and then click the button to insert these records on the A.20.06.11 screen. The button will mark all records, and the button removes all check marks. Using the button will close the window without inserting any record on A.20.06.11.

Using the LOV in the first (Request for Access Rights) block opens the window shown below, which displays all access rights that are not currently assigned to the user.

Using the LOV in the Discipline field in the second (Request for Queryable Disciplines) block opens the window shown below, which displays all disciplines that are not currently assigned to the user as queryable disciplines.

Using the LOV in the Privilege field in the third (Request for Privileges) block opens the window shown below, which displays all privileges that are not currently granted to the user.

When you have entered all requests in Window 1, you can click the button to inform the super user/administrator of your requests.

The DBA setting SUPER_USER defines the user who will receive emails when requests for new users or additional rights are submitted on the log on screen or the A.20.06.21 screen. Values for this DBA setting are only valid if the user entered can work with the role that has been defined by the DBA setting SUPER_USER_ROLE.

If the screen is called by a super user, he can take a look at the rights, queryable disciplines, and privileges a user is requesting, select the ones he wants to grant, and finally click the Grant button to grant the rights and to generate the corresponding entries on screens A.20.06...

With the options at the top right of the screen, you can limit the displayed users. With ‘All Users’ selected, a query will show all users; with ‘Open Requests’ selected, only users having submitted requests for rights that are not yet granted will be displayed. Also, the LOV on the User field is restricted accordingly.

The screen opens in query mode. Use the LOV (F9) button to select a user, and then click the Run Query (F8) button to display the requests of the selected user. Then click the Sel check box for all the rights you want to grant and save the changes. Finally, click the button. The message below appears, the rights are granted, and the user is notified via e-mail message.
