The upgrade process can cause problems if users are currently connected to the system, when they request, hold, or surrender seats. You can switch the auto upgrade off to trigger the upgrade at a defined time chosen yourself.

Also if Windows Updates have been installed on the ISL client machine, and the computer waits for restart to finish things up, this has sometimes caused disturbances in the ISL client communication with the cloud. In the ISL Client history it might mention events like "Error occurred when communicating with Intergraph Smart Licensing Server" or "Unable to contact Intergraph Smart Licensing Client Service".
