Establishing a work breakdown structure is a typical requirement for any project. If possible, the WBS in Smart Materials should duplicate exactly the WBS issued by the project. Aligning these structures enables easy synchronization of budgets, account codes, design areas, etc. The WBS can be changed after it is created, but changing the structure should be avoided.
A typical WBS for piping is:
Discipline > Unit > Area > Sub Area > Line ID
If the WBS does not exist prior to import, Smart Materials can create it if the necessary configuration is complete. The following is an overview of defining a WBS.
