On the Administration>Global Setup> Project Defaults page, you can define parameter defaults for disciplines within a specific project. Initially, all the settings defined at the project level are effective at the discipline level too. You can change these settings here and they overrides the settings at discipline level.

Project Discipline Defaults

To know more about tabs, refer tab details in Project Group Defaults.

Each tab consists of following columns:

Columns Name

Description

Parameter

Name of the setting

Description

Description of the setting

Value

Value of the setting defined by the user

Value Description

Description of the associated value

Defined On

Describes the level at which the setting is defined. For example, at product group or project or discipline level.

Mandatory

Can have two values (Y and N)

Default Vale

Default value of the setting

To change a project default value on the discipline level, you must:

  1. Change the setting.

  2. Save your changes.

  3. Re-query the block.

The Defined on indicates that the changes are now effective for the discipline in your project. To reset a setting to the value, defined on the project level, perform these steps:

  1. Delete the setting.

  2. Save your changes.

  3. Re-query the block.

The Defined on now indicates that the project level setting is in effect again.

  • You cannot modify all the project settings at discipline level, even if they are present on your page. And, if you try one such setting, an error message appears.

  • Settings on the project/discipline level are only possible for those modules that work in a discipline-dependent manner, such as SPRD or E&PI(BOM).
