Smart Materials/Smart Reference Data Version
10.2

You can define error, warning, or information messages in the System Messages page. All messages defined for use in Smart Materials must start with the prefix MAR- or MAG- followed by a five-digit number. The message type controls the style of the message box that appears. The Unsubscribe option indicates whether this message is to be brought up in a separate alert window.

The Message Texts block lets you define the message text, cause, action, and hint for the selected system message.

The application comes with message texts in English and German languages.

  1. From the Home page, select Administration > Global Setup > System Messages.

  2. Click Add Row.

  3. Type a message code.

  4. Select message type from the Message Type list and then click Save.

  5. Click No from the Unsubscribed cell to add a user to the unsubscribed list.

By default, the application sets the default value for Unsubscribed to No since no user has been added to the unsubscribe list.

  6. Click Add Row in the Unsubscribed Users dalog.

  7. Select a user from the Unsubscribed Users list, and then click Save.

    • The application automatically changes the Unsubscribed value to Yes when you add a user to the Unsubscribe list.

    • Click Yes from the Unsubscribed cell to view the list of users added to the unsubscribed list.

    • To check the list of unsubscribed messages for a specific user, select the user from the Users (see Create a new user) page. All unsubscribed messages for the user are displayed.

  8. In the Message Texts section, click Add Row.

  9. In Nls cell, select a language from the Languages list.

  10. Type a message in Message Text.

  11. Optionally, you can type Cause, Action, Hint, and Developer Hint text.

  12. Click Save.

  • To enable display of help text in a language other than the login language, you must enable the project default ZX_ADMLANG.

  • When a new language is created using Languages (see Define languages), all help text that is defined for NLS_ID = 1 (English) is copied to the new language. You can update or modify the help text for the new language.

  • If you set the new language as default language using the project default ZX_ADMLANG, the application displays the help text in the new language.

  • For every hotfix or a fresh installation, the help text with NLS_ID = 1 might be overwritten. User-created data is re-imported and not overwritten.
