Many pages in other Smart Materials modules and Smart Reference Data allow user-defined input fields. The Properties page lets you to define properties, property groups, and property sets. Property group is a collection of properties.

To view a list of property groups or properties, select Property Group or Property respectively from the Display Options list.

  1. From the Home page, select Administration > Global Setup > Tables and Properties > Properties.

  2. To define property groups, select Property Groups from the Display Options list.

  3. Click Add Row.

  4. Type the sequence number in the Sequence cell.

    Sequence controls the display order of the property group.

  5. Type the property group name and description in the Property Group, Description cells and click Save.

  6. To add properties to a Property Group, click Add Row in the Properties block.

  7. Type a property name in the Property cell.

  8. Select a data type from the Data Type list.

  9. Type the width and precision for the property in the Width and Precision cells respectively.

  10. Select Yes from Required to specify that the property is required.

    If the project default ZX_HL_RQAT is set to Y, the required properties are highlighted in the core workflow pages.

  11. Select a unit of measure from the Unit of Measure list.

  12. Select a conversion formula/table from the metric<->english list for conversion to other units of measure.

  13. Select Yes from NLS Values list to allow language dependent values.

  14. Select Yes from Query list if the property value must be case sensitive.

  15. Select a restriction from the Restrict list to restrict the property values to either upper case or lower case.

    LOWER - Upper case text is converted to lower case.

    NONE - No change to the text.

    UPPER - Lower case text is converted to upper case.

  16. Type the minimum and maximum property values in the Low and High cells respectively.

  17. Type the maximum property value in the High cell.

  18. Type the label that would be displayed and the hint text in the Label Text and Hint Text respectively.

  19. Select an SQL statement from the Tables list.

  20. Select Yes or No from the Update CCs list.

  21. Select Yes from Allow Update to enable the BOM values for this property to be updated even if the BOM is locked/released.

  22. Select Yes from TE Relevant if this property is required for technical evaluation by Procurement.

  23. Select Yes from Site Inspection Required if this property is assigned to idents of item type Tag Attribute Based (TAB) and a site inspection is required for this ident property.

  24. Select Yes from Inherit if the value of this property is to be copied from the part to the newly created commodity codes by default.

  25. Select Yes from Ident NLS if the corresponding property must be included in Ident NLS.

  26. Select Yes from Multi Values if multiple values are allowed for this property.

  27. Select an value from Select List Type:

    Close - specifies that you can select only from the valid values available.

    Open - specifies that you can add new values for the property.

  28. Select Yes from Intervals if intervals are allowed for the property values.

  29. Select Yes from Allow Negative if negative values are allowed for the property.

  30. Define a format template for the entry and display of the property values in Display Format cell.
