Configuring the software is a one-time activity, typically done by the Administrator. Because the 2D P&ID data and the 3D PDMS data or 3D ISO data are coming from systems using different formats, the data must be converted to a neutral format for the comparison. In addition to the neutral format, there must be a basis for comparing similar items. This comparison is typically based on the design practices of the organization. This configuration step in the workflow allows you to define a mapping that brings the data to a neutral format and allows you to define a comparison basis.
