Many of the drawing tools (such as Draw Line and Draw Circle) contain parameters that you can define to draw the element. Other parameters might display a value the software calculates.
The software locks the parameter after you define the value. Click the lock to open the parameter and change the value. The graphic below shows a locked box on the left and an unlocked box on the right.
Some parameters provide a calculator you access using the drop-down list (see below). Use the calculator to determine the parameter's value.
The software draws the element using the values you enter along with any relations you added (see Drawing with relations). The following table describes the different definitions for a drawn element.
Drawing Status |
Description |
---|---|
Under defined |
The given information is insufficient for drawing the element. |
Partly defined |
The software can draw the element using the given information; you can still change or add more definitions. |
Completely defined |
The element is completely defined. No further definitions can be given unless you remove some existing definitions. |
Incorrectly defined |
The given definitions form a combination of conditions that the software cannot use to draw the element. |
The color of the parameter field indicates the state of the parameter: The colors and states are described in the table below.
Parameter Field Color |
Description |
---|---|
White |
Type a value in an empty box, or modify an existing value. |
Yellow |
The value is provided and the box is locked. Click the Lock button to unlock the box and type a new value. |
Gray |
This is a read-only box. The software calculates the value based on other parameters you provided. |
