Manipulation tools enable you to modify existing elements in different ways. For example, you can rotate or scale elements. Manipulation tools are unavailable until you activate at least one element. For more information, see Rotate an element.

Multiply

Copies the selected elements.

Rotate

Rotates the selected element clockwise or counter-clockwise about the reference point. Click Rotate to display the Rotate properties in the State Manager.

Parameters

Angle

Specifies the rotation angle.

X, Y

Specifies the coordinates for the reference point along the X-axis and the Y-axis.

Options

Copy

Creates a new element instead of rotating the original element.

Leave the original as active

Keeps the original element active after performing the rotation.

With Parts

This option is not available.

Manipulation tools_Move_ICON Move

Moves selected elements to a new specified location. Type new properties and coordinates using the Move properties, or drag points on the reference line in the work area to a new location. For more information, see Move an element.

Click Move Manipulation tools_Move_ICON to display the Move properties in the State Manager.

Reference points

X, Y

Specifies the coordinates for first reference point.

X, Y

Specifies the coordinates for the second reference point.

Parameters

Move step

Specifies how far to move the element.

Move angle

Specifies the angle of the moved element with respect to the point of origin.

Delta X

Specifies how far to move the element along the X-axis.

Delta Y

Specifies how far to move the element along the Y-axis.

Options

Copy

Creates a new element instead of moving the original element.

Mirroring by Line

Mirrors selected elements around a reference line. By default, the software creates a new reference line to the right of minimum rectangle for the selected elements. You can drag this line in the work area, or change the properties in the State Manager. Click a line in the work area to populate the reference line using properties from the selected line. For more information, see .

Click Mirroring by Line to display the Mirror properties in the State Manager.

Reference points

X, Y

Specifies the coordinates for first reference point.

X, Y

Specifies the coordinates for the second reference point.

Parameters

Angle of line

Specifies the angle of the reference line.

Options

Copy

Creates a new element instead of mirroring the original element.

Mirroring - Horizontal

Mirrors selected elements about the horizontal axis through the center of the minimum rectangle for the elements. Click Mirroring-Horizontal to execute the command. Click Mirroring-Horizontal again to return the elements to their original position.

Mirroring - Vertical

Mirrors selected elements about the vertical axis through the center of the minimum rectangle for the elements. Click Mirroring-Vertical to execute the command. Click Mirroring-Vertical again to return the elements to their original position.

Scale

Resizes selected elements with respect to a specific reference point. For more information, see Scale an element.

Click Scale to display the Scale properties in the State Manager.

Parameters

X, Y

Specifies the coordinates for the reference point.

Scale multiplier

Specifies the percentage to scale the elements.

Options

Copy

Creates a new element instead of scaling the original element.

Copy - Matrix

Copies selected elements multiple times to create a matrix . By default, the software creates the copies next to the minimum rectangle of the selected elements. For more information, see Create a matrix copy.

Click Copy - Matrix to display the Linear Pattern properties in the State Manager. A preview of the copies also displays in the work area.

Direction 1, Direction 2

Contains properties for defining the number and direction of the copies for each direction.

Count of elements

Specifies how many copies to make.

Distance

Specifies the distance between the copies. By default, the software uses the combined length of the selected elements for Direction 1, and the combined height for Direction 2. Negative value reverse the direction.

Angle

Specifies the angle of the copies with respect to the X-axis.

Locked

Sets the Direction 2 angle to 90 degrees with respect to Direction 1. Clear the Locked check box to change the angle.

Copy - Circular

Copies selected elements multiple times to create a circular pattern. The software places the copies on the perimeter of a circle. For more information, see .

Click Copy-Circular to display the Circular Pattern properties in the State Manager. A preview of the copies also displays in the work area.

Parameters

Count of elements

Specifies how many copies to make.

Step angle

Specifies the angle between copies.

Full angle

Specifies the full angle of the circular pattern.

X, Y

Specifies the X and Y coordinates of the center point of the circle. Moving the circle farther from the original elements creates a larger circle .

Reference points

Origin_X_ICON X, Origin_Y_ICON Y

Uses reference point coordinates X and Y Origin_Y_ICON to specify which circles display the copies.

Specify these values using the Circular Pattern properties. Alternatively, move the reference points in the work area, where they display as green squares.

These properties are available only when you select Use reference points.

Flip values

Swaps the first set of reference point coordinates with the second set. These properties are available only when you select Use reference points.
