You must select machine technology before nesting. Machine technology defines numerous parameter values used in nesting and cutting path creation.
These parameters include:

Overlap distance default values

Compensation
-
Cutting speeds
-
Cutting technology defaults (such as default parameter values for lead movements)

Solver overlap check default values

Usable material thicknesses and qualities
-
Automatic nesting
-
Remnant values
Use the drop-down menus in the upper-right corner of the work area to select machine technology (see the figure below). The selected technology group defines which technologies are available in a menu. For example, when using plasma, you might be able to select ampere amount. The ampere amount affects compensation and cutting speed values.
Point to the Technology drop-down menu to display available material groups and thickness values in a tool tip (see below).
The machine technology selection should not be mistaken for the cutting machine selection. You select the cutting machine when you create the NC-program.
