Cut Profiles allows you to automatically generate cutting paths.

The software generates cutting paths based on the Cut Profiles parameters defined in the State Manager.. The Leads tab contains options for leads, start locations, and start holes. Inner and outer profiles have different options. The Autoflame tab contains parameters for defining the cutting path generation strategy. Autoflame parameters define whether the software can move start locations and the starting corner for the cutting.

You can modify the Leads and Autoflame parameters before generating the cutting paths.

Clicking Cut All generates the cutting paths for all nested parts.

Autoflame

LoopWidth

Specifies the height and width of loop. If the value is zero, the program calculates LoopWidth using the average height and width of parts combined with the collision distance.

Loop is defined by CutStrategy, LoopForm, and StartCorner.

CutStrategy

Specifies the direction of the loop. Select either horizontal or vertical.

LoopForm

Specifies whether the loop is an S-form or a Z-form loop.

The example below contains an S-form loop, cut strategy is vertical loop. Part 1 is cut first.

The example below contains a Z-form loop, cut strategy is vertical loop. Part 1 is cut first.

StartCorner

Defines the starting corner for the cutting path. The profile closest to the selected corner is cut first.

MoveStartPoint

Enables the software to move start locations so that movement to the next part is shortest possible. This option requires that MoveStartPoint = Yes. The software does not move start locations for open profiles, parts that contain bevels, part groups that contain bridges, or parts that contain start holes.

StartPntMinElemLength

Defines the minimum length of an element (line or arc) to which the software can move the start location. If the optimal location for the start location is on a shorter element than defined, the software selects the closest suitable element. If part does not contain and element with sufficient length, the program bypasses the length limit.

This option requires that MoveStartPoint = Yes.

StartPntDistOuterCorner

Defines the minimum distance of the start location from the outer corner. If the value is positive and the start location is closer to an outer corner than the given value, the software moves the start location to the given distance from the outer corner.

If the value is negative and the start location is closer to the outer corner than the given value, the software moves the start location to the outer corner. If you always want the start location on an outer corner, specify a large negative value.

This option requires that MoveStartPoint = Yes.

StartPntDistInnerCorner

Defines the minimum distance between the start location and the inner corner. If the value is positive and the start location is closer to the inner corner than the given value, the software moves the start location to the given distance from inner corner. Negative value is interpreted as 0,0.

This option requires that MoveStartPoint = Yes.

StartPntDistTechElem

Specifies the minimum distance from corner loops, ridges, and bridges.

This option requires that MoveStartPoint = Yes.

PartMarking

Specifies that all markings are done before cutting parts if PartMarking = No. If PartMarking = Yes, markings are done right before the part is cut.

StartHolesFirst

Cuts the start hole of a part before cutting the part if StartHolesFirst = No. If StartHolesFirst = Yes, all start holes are cut before parts are cut.

UsePatterns

Searches for part and hole patters if UsePatterns = Yes. If the software locates a pattern, all parts and holes of the pattern are cut together.

To create cutting path automatically:

  1. Click Cut Profiles on the toolbar.

Options for Cut Profiles display in the State Manager.

  2. Change the properties for lead-ins and lead-outs, if necessary.

  3. Use parameters on the Autoflame tab to adjust the cutting path creation strategy, if needed.

  4. Click Cut All .

The software generates cutting paths according to the specified properties . If necessary, you can edit the cutting path using Cut Direction, Cut Order, or Cutter Path. For more information, see Manipulation of the Cutting Path and Nesting & Cut Tools.
