Displays the Collision Distances Settings dialog box, shown below. Collision distance settings allow you to define overlap distances. Overlap distances define the minimum distance between parts and other objects for collision or automatic nesting. The software stores the default settings in the machine database.
Part-Part
Specifies the collision distance between parts.
Part-Sheet
Specifies the collision distance between the part and the sheet.
Part-Tech
Specifies the collision distance between the part and the technology (for example leads or corner loops).
Check Tolerance
Specifies the tolerance the Solver allows before displaying a warning that parts are too close to each other (or too close to the plate edge).
Step length ratio
Specifies the ratio used to divide the distance between parts during collision in the Nesting work area. During collision, the software divides the distance between a part and a plate edge (or another part) into steps. The software divides each step by multiplying the step using the Step length ratio. A small Step length ratio value results in more precise colliding. The default value, 0.5, results in a difference of 0.02 millimeters to 0.04 millimeters.
