You might be required to cut rectangular parts so that each cut is made border to border. Shear Cutting handles this constraint when nesting rectangle items. The software considers a minimum distance (cut distance) between two parallel items and a cut between the items. That is, the parts are either next to each other with a minimum distance, or they are nested further than the minimum distance.
The example below shows a rectangular nesting in which every cut is border to border.
You define the Shear Cutting distance parameters using the Collision Distances parameters below.
Part - Part
Specifies the distance between part items.
Part - Sheet
Specifies the distance between a part item and the plate edge.
-
Shear Cutting is only available for the Edge Nesting strategy.
-
Create Cut Path and Insert Leads do not support Shear Cutting.
-
If a machine only supports an edge nesting strategy, you can set the necessary parameters in the machine database.
