Most shipyards use robot cutting technology to speed up profile manufacturing processes. Smart Production helps customers balance the capacity in their manufacturing processes. To enable this, accurate capacity and work time calculations are needed. Smart Production automatically calculates work time estimates for profile manufacturing processes based on the information gathered from the shipyard’s 3D design system. Smart Production enables you to fine-tune work time calculation parameters using the simple user interface in System Settings.

Work time calculation for profile cutting is done in two phases. The first work time estimate is calculated at profile part level after the design data is imported from the 3D design system. Next, the work time estimate is re-calculated when the profile parts are nested. This provides a more accurate estimate.

The most accurate and recent work time estimate is used in all Smart Production applications.
