After loading commodity codes with geometric data (typically available in PartClass Sheets) in the staging area, the mapped commodity code geometrics attributes from Smart 3D are available for mapping to Smart Reference Data attributes.

Map Smart 3D and Smart Reference Data attributes

  1. Click the Geometrics tab.

  2. From the Staging Area Data (Smart 3D Data) area, expand the PART_DEFINITION name node, select an attribute, and then drag it to the Attribute Mappings panel.

  3. Select a corresponding Smart Reference Data attribute in the Project/Product Group Data area and drag to the Attribute Mappings panel.

If the corresponding Smart Reference Data attribute is not available for a Smart 3D attribute, you can select the attribute type from the Kind of Attribute list from the Attribute Mappings panel. If a mapping already exist, selecting an option (except Others) from the Kind of Attribute list overrides an already mapped Smart Reference Data attribute.

    • The mapped attributes are highlighted in green color. Example, G1.

    • To view the corresponding attribute, double-click an already mapped item. For example, double-click the attribute G1 from Staging Area Data (Smart 3D Data) area to view its mapped Smart Reference Data attribute in the Project/Product Group Data area. Both the attributes G1_O (from Smart 3D) and G2_O ( from Smart Reference Data) are now highlighted in orange.

    • To unmap, select the complete row from the Attribute Mappings panel and press the DELETE button.

Import

If you have selected Specification driven import in the Setup Configuration, then the following can take place:

  • While importing geometric data, only the geometric data for the imported commodity codes available in the selected specification will be imported.

  • While importing generic data, application imports complete generic data available in the catalog.

  1. Click Import ImportIcon. The Smart 3D Import dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select the commodity codes that you want to import.

You can click Validate to view the prerequisites to import geometric data. Following are the prerequisites:

    • Commodity code is not assigned to any object parameter.

    • At least one valid geometric should be assigned to the commodity code.

    • Geometric should have all the mandatory attributes and inputs mapped..

    • Structure of geometrics of the imported sheet must match with the Smart Reference Data of commodity codes geometrics.

  3. Click Import, and then click Yes to confirm import operation. The status of each category appears in the Status column.

SHARED Tip If conflict exists, you can resolve them by clicking Click to view conflict from Status, and then use the update (overwrite the conflict with the Smart 3D geometric data) or skip operation.
