A common specification header geometric can be applied to multiple specifications at once. You can add, update, delete, or duplicate the common specification header geometric. After you create a common specification header geometric, you can choose to apply it to selected or all the existing specifications. However, specifications that are created later will have the existing common specification header geometrics information by default.

The newly created common specification header geometrics are applied to the specifications only when the value of the Project Default ZS_CSHGAUT is set to N. If the value is set to Y, you can still create a common specification header geometric, but cannot apply it to the specifications.

When you duplicate or copy an existing common specification header geometric, you can change one or more values to make it unique.

If a specification already has the information same as the common specification header geometric you have created, then the information is not duplicated again.

To apply common specification header geometric to the required specifications, you must select the geometrics, select specifications for which you want to apply the geometrics, and map the geometrics to specifications.

Apply a Common Specification Header Geometric to Specifications

  1. In the Cover Page, click Common Spec Header Geometrics icon CSHG available in the toolbar. The Common Specification Header Geometrics tab appears.

  2. In the Common Spec Header Geometrics tab, do the following

    1. Click Edit edit grid.

    2. Click Add Add.

    3. Select information for the following fields:

      1. Filter: Indicator whether the geometric table is used as filter for spec item ident on header level.

      2. Ident Create: If this checkbox is checked-on then the corresponding user-defined Geometric would be considered for Ident creation.

      3. Unit System: Name (Code) of the Unit System.

      4. Short Code: User defined short code.

      5. Group: This field specifies the Commodity Group.

      6. Part: This field specifies the Commodity Part.

      7. Note: You must enter either Short Code or Group and Part.

      8. Table Type: Type of the geometric table.

      9. Table Name: The name of the geometric table.

      10. From1: Start of nominal size range 1.

      11. To1: End of nominal size range 1.

      12. From2: Start of nominal size range 2.

      13. To2: End of nominal size range 2.

      14. Ctrl: The control status is a user-definable control function to either allow or prohibit further use of a record.

    4. Click Save save. System automatically selects the list of geometrics you have created or updated.

    5. (Optional) If you want to map any existing geometrics, select the checkbox under Select to Copy column.

    6. Click Save.

    7. Click Read-Only readonly.

    8. Click Next. The Specifications tab appears.

  3. In the Specifications tab, do the following:

    1. Click Edit edit grid.

    2. Select the checkbox of the specifications under Select Spec column for which you want the geometrics to be mapped.

    3. Click Save.

    4. Click Read-Only readonly.

    5. Click Next. The Map tab appears.

  4. In the Summary tab, do the following:

    1. View the summary of selected geometrics which will be mapped to the selected specifications. You can also view if the geometrics are being inserted, updated, or if there is any conflict.

  5. Click Map. The geometrics will be mapped to the specifications.

Duplicate a Common Specification Header Geometric

  1. Right-click on the left header of the grid and select Duplicate.

Delete a Common Specification Header Geometric

  1. Right-click on the left header of the grid and select Delete.

Open Table for a Common Specification Header Geometric

Right-click on the left header of the grid and select Open Table to view the details of a Common Spec Header Geometric.
