Using the Welders module, you can do the following:

  • Add, view, and update the welder details in Welders Log.

  • Create a Welder Qualification Test (WQT) request for a welder, update the qualifications, and close the WQT request.

  • View WQT results for the welders.

This image below provides information on how to manage the weld quality testing process.

Update Welders Log

In this module, you can add, view, and update the complete details of the welder.

  1. Click Welders.

  2. Click Add Item .

  3. Enter the following information:

    • Welders No. - Specifies a unique number for the welder.

    • Welder Name - Specifies the name of the welder.

    • Welder_IC_NO - Specifies the inspection and certification number of the welder.

    • EP_NO - Specifies the European patent number.

    • Work_Location_Code - Specifies the work location code of the welder. Select a weld location code from the menu list.

    • Contractor - Specifies the contractor under whom the welder is employed or is working. Select a contractor from the menu list.

    • WELDER_SEQ - Specifies the welding sequence of the welder.

    • Reference_No. - Specifies the reference number of the welder.

    • Welder_Status - Specifies the status of the welder.

    • Welder_Date - Specifies the date assigned to the welder for welding.

    • Welder_Status_By - Specifies the person who has assigned the status to the welder.

    • Welder_Status_Reason - Specifies the reason for assigning a status to a welder.

    • Insert_user ID - Specifies the user who entered the welder.

    • Insert_User ID - Specifies the user who added the welder.

    • Insert Date - Specifies the date the welder was added.

    • Update User - Specifies the last user who updated any property on the welder.

    • Update Date - Specifies the most recent date the welder was updated.

    • Is_Valid - Specifies whether the welder is valid.

    • Working_Area - Specifies the working area of the welder. Select a working area from the menu list.

      The options displayed in the Working_Area are based on the welder's location.

    • Active - Specifies whether the welder is active.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Click Export Data to export the information to an Excel file.

  6. Click Upload Photo to upload a picture of the welder.

  7. Click Generate Badge Report to generate a badge for the welder that displays the welder information and the QR code, which is configurable by the user.

  8. Click Generate Certificate to create a certificate for the welder.

    • A certificate can be generated only for one welder at a time, but each welder can have multiple qualification lists based on the WQT criteria. Each certificate is created on a separate page in the document.

    • You can generate a certificate only for a qualified welder.

  9. To generate a certificate for the welder, you must click Refresh on the welder log after setting the qualification results in the Qualification Results box or the selected welder in the WQT.

  10. Click Welder QR Code Sticker . A welder QR code sticker report is generated that displays the welderā€™s name and ID number along with the QR code.

  11. Click Generate Welder Qualification List Report without selecting a welder. A report is generated that displays all the qualified welders.

  12. Select the required welder with the qualified welder status and click Attach File to attach files (for example, scanned copy of certificates, performance reports, and so forth) for quick reference.

    You can select multiple qualified welders and attach any number of files. Once the files are attached, the Attached Files check box for the welder appears selected and the Attach Files Count field is updated with the number of files that are attached.

  13. Click Download Files . The files are downloaded and saved in the ..\Project\Welder ID folder.

    You can remove the attached files. To detach the files, select the welder ID for which the file is attached, click Unattach File and then click OK.

Create Welder Qualification Test request

After updating the welders log details, you must create a WQT request for a welder, update the qualifications of the welders and then close the WQT request.

For every welder, a WQT request is created to test if the welder is qualified for performing the weld.

  1. Click Administration > Reference Data > Welders > Welder Qualification Test.

  2. Click Create WQT Request .

  3. Enter the following details and click Next.

    • Name - Specifies the name for the WQT request.

    • Description - Specifies the description for the WQT.

    • Select Discipline - Specifies the discipline of the weld.

    • Standard - Specifies the standard that must be followed while creating WQT.

    • Project Tested - Specifies the project for which the WQT is being conducted.

    • Select Contractors - Specifies the list of contractors. Select the check boxes in the Assign column for multiple contractors.

  4. Click Add Item in the Select Criteria pane.

  5. Provide the required criteria details.

  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to add multiple criteria.

  7. Select each criteria in the Select Criteria pane and select the welders to assign against each criteria.

    The details of the selected welders and criteria display in the Selected Welders and Criteria pane.

  8. Select all the welders in the Selected Welders and Criteria pane whom you want to test.

  9. Click Next.

  10. Review the summary and click Finish to create a WQT request.

    The Welders List is created in the WQT.

  11. Select the welder or WQT for the welder and click Welder Qualification Test Request .

  12. Select the welder or WQT for the welder and click Welder Qualification Test Status report to generate a welder qualification test status report.

Update Welder Qualifications

  1. Click Administration > Reference Data > Welders > Welder Qualification Test.

  2. Enter the following information for each welder:

    • WPS - Specifies the weld process.

    • P" Number - Specifies the P number for the weld.

    • F" Number - Specifies the F number for the weld.

    • Thickness - Specifies the thickness for the weld.

    • OD - Specifies the OD for the weld.

    • Test Date - Specifies the date the test was taken.

    • Test Result - Specifies whether the welder has passed or failed the qualification test.

    • Retest Date - Specifies the date the welder must retake the test.

    • Expiration Date - Specifies the date the qualification for the welder expires. The welder must retake the test.

  3. Select Qualified or Not Qualified in the Qualification Result list and click Save.

  4. Click Welder Qualification List.

  5. Enter the required information, including WPS:

    • Discipline - Specifies the discipline for the weld.

    • Weld Process - Specifies the welding process against which the welder is tested.

    • WPS - Specifies the welding process.

    • P Number - Specifies the P number of the weld.

    • F Number - Specifies the F number of the weld.

    • Thickness - Specifies the thickness of the weld.

    • OD - Specifies the OD of the weld.

    • Test Date - Specifies the date the test was taken.

    • Qualification Result - Specifies whether the welder has passed or failed the qualification test.

    • Retest Date - Specifies the date the welder must retake the test.

    • Expiration Date - Specifies the date the qualification for the welding process expires. The welder must retake the test.

  6. In the Qualification Result column, select Qualified or Not Qualified.

    The Status column on the Welders List page is set to Qualified for all the welders who pass the qualification test.

    After selecting the results (Qualified or Not Qualified in the Qualification Result column), go to the Welders Log and click Refresh , and then click Generate Certificate for the required welder.

  7. Update the WQT status from Open to Close, to close a WQT Request.

Update Welder Qualification List

In this module, you can view the Welder Qualification Test results (Passed, Failed, Expired, and About to Expire, and All) of the welders.

  1. Click Administration > Reference Data > Welders > Welder Qualification Test.

  2. After creating a WQT request and updating the welder qualifications, click the following tabs to view the results:

    • Passed - Displays details for the welders who are qualified for the WQT test.

    • Failed - Displays the details of the welders who are not qualified for the WQT test.

    • Expired - Displays the details of the welders whose qualifications are expired.

    • About to Expire - Displays the details of the welders whose qualifications are about to expire soon.

    • All - Displays the details for all the welders, regardless of their qualification results.

  3. On the All tab, click Load Data and load the welder qualifications if you do not require the WQT.
