Which roles have permissions to create a change action?

Users assigned to the following roles have the permissions to create a change action:

  • Site Engineer PAB

  • Project Administrator PAB

  • System Administrator PAB

  • Design Lead PAB

  • Designer PAB

The Designer PAB and Design Lead PAB can also create a change action from the SIO tag's action menu.

  1. In the Change Management feature set, select Create Change Action.

    SHARED Tip You can also create a change action from the Actions menu of a tag.

  2. Type the required information on all tabs.

    SHARED Tip If your system is configured to use ENS, you can create multiple change actions at the same time. For more information, see Using ENS with documents and objects.

    • Only Maintenance, Turnaround, and Align 3-D Model with As-Built project types can be selected.

    • If an external organization is selected as the primary organization, the Approve Design Modifications step is assigned to a design lead of the external organization.

    • An external organization can only see change actions where they are selected as either the primary organization or the subscribing organization.

  3. Select:

    • Prepare Change to send a Prepare Content step to your To Do List. This step allows you to update the change action with related tags and to mark up the changes you are requesting. For more information, see Prepare the change action.

    • Finish to send the change action to the Approve Design Modifications step. For more information, see Update 3D content.
