Which roles have permissions to update the change action and approve it?

Users assigned to the following roles have the permissions to update a change action and approve it:

  • Site Engineer PAB

  • Project Administrator PAB

The access is provided after validation is done by the default condition ENV.LOGINUSERDEFAULTROLES, which not only provides the details about the role with which user logged in, but also validates the logged in role with the preparation step recipient role.

  1. Select the change action in your To Do List , and then select Actions > Prepare Change.

    The Prepare Change page provides a single location to update your actions and relate tags. For more information on how to relate tags, see Relate tags to the change action given below.

  2. Select Potential Impacts to view other objects potentially affected by this change action and add them to the change action.

  3. Select Potential Conflicts to review conflicting items.

  4. Select:

    • Complete to send the updated change action to the Approve Design Modifications step. For more information, see Update 3D content.

    • Checks are carried out to ensure that the related tags are not used in any other ongoing change actions, that the related tags have the work area assigned, and that the required signatures are in place before the 3D content is sent to be updated.

    • The primary and secondary organizations are related to the change action only after this step is completed.

    • Save as Draft to save the change action so that you can continue working on it later.

    • Reject to cancel the change action, terminate all relationships, and set its status to Canceled.

  • Select Update to add or change details of the change action.

  • Select View in Model to view the change action in the 3D model.

Relate tags to the change action

  1. Select Manage Tags to display the tags in the Results window.

  2. Select the tags to include in your change request.

    • You can also search for tags in the search bar.

    • You can use the Filter by options to return more targeted search results.

  3. Select RELATE.

SHARED Tip Once items are related, you can also use the TAGS tabs to relate tags to the change action:

  • In the Prepare Change page, the tags related to the change actions are displayed in the TAGS tab.

  • You can also use the TAGS tab to relate more tags to the change action, by completing the following steps:

    1. In the tab, search for tags using the search bar.

    2. Select the tags in the list of results, and select RELATE.

      SHARED Tip You can also use FILTER options when searching for tags.
