The revision attributes include the major and minor revisions, which are combined to create a sequence. The revision scheme defines a valid sequence for these attributes. A set of pre-configured revision schemes are delivered, but you can also create your own revision scheme.

Custom Revision
This revision scheme can be customized by the user.
No validation is performed. This box is display-only for queries.
Major sequence
The major sequence value and the first part of revision scheme (normally changes when a document undergoes a major change).
This box should be left empty/blank for numeric sequence types.
Major sequence type
The major revision sequence type. Options include sequence, repeating sequence, or numeric.
Major sequence minimum length
Major sequence minimum length (only applicable if Major sequence type is set to numeric).
Major sequence pad character
The pad character for the major sequence revision code (only applicable if Major sequence type is set to numeric).
Minor sequence
The minor sequence value and optional second part of revision scheme, which normally changes when a document undergoes an intermediate change and release.
This box should be left empty/blank for numeric sequence types or if you do not require a minor revision scheme.
Minor sequence type
The minor revision sequence type. Options include sequence, repeating sequence, or numeric.
Minor sequence minimum length
Minor sequence minimum length, and only applicable if Major sequence type is set to numeric.
Minor sequence pad character
The pad character for the minor sequence revision code, and only applicable if Minor sequence type is set to numeric.
Config level
The configuration level to which the revision scheme is applicable (not used in HxGN SDx).
Take next major revision on merge
Set this option if a new major revision is to be created when merging a document up from a project to a plant. If the revision details of the project revision are to be retained on merge, then leave this blank.
Classification
Classification provides revision schemes for a specific document classification or type. This is done by relating the revision scheme to a node of the classification tree. Revisions schemes are inherited down the classification tree.
Configuration Item
Configuration Item provides revision schemes for different plants or projects. For example, you might need different revision schemes in PlantA and PlantB.
Interface Definitions
Interface Definition provides revision schemes for specific document classes. For example, you might need different revision schemes for internal documents, such as templates and shared documents.
This strategy is controlled by relating the revision schemes to a suitable document interface. Once related, the revision scheme is valid only for classes that realize that interface. Additionally, these classes are not able to use any other schemes that are not related to one of its realized interfaces.
