Repositions end connections placed incorrectly in the PCF. To identify continuation components, the command looks for components with a STATUS attribute set to DOTTED-DIMENSIONED or DOTTED-UNDIMENSIONED. The command walks along the "dotted" component until it locates an open end, and then moves the end connection to that location. Where possible, the main pipe is followed. If a tee branch is encountered, the command places the end connection at one of the ends according to the following:

  • When the tee is encountered from one of the main header pipes, the command steps straight through the tee to the other side and stays on the header pipe until reaching the end of the pipeline. The command never goes up the branch.

  • When the tee is encountered from coming down the tee branch, the software stores the coordinates for both ends of the tee that connect to the main pipeline. The command chooses one of the ends at random. If a solid component is then encountered along the chosen route, the command stops searching, switches direction, and travels to the other end of the tee.

PCF AUTO-CHANGE END-CONNECTION-PIPELINE

  • If you have an older PCF that uses the legacy CONTINUATION or SPECIAL-STATUS attribute, you must first use the PCF CONVERT-LEGACY command to convert the PCF syntax to use the STATUS attribute.

  • The command ignores any components that have only one end point and any components that have zero length, such as welds.

  • The software writes information about which end connection coordinates have been changed and which end connection coordinates have stayed the same to the pre-processing log file.
