Revises the attributes so that they match those specified in a Intergraph Spoolgen .opt or Smart Isometrics .pos file. Because some extraction routines, such as PDMS, can use different attributes for the same data item, it is not possible to use a single .opt or .pos file to plot different IDFs on the same backing sheet. The command inserts any attribute found in the .opt or .pos file into the IDF in place of the existing attribute. This command is not limited to 600 records.

To ensure that duplicate entries do not result, use caution when using with other commands that add 600 records to the IDF.

The process works as follows:

  1. Read any three records in the IDF.

  2. Where the 3 record has a non-zero position, locate the attribute in the IDF that it references.

  3. Read the specified .opt or .pos file.

  4. Compare the three records in the IDF to those in the external .opt or .pos file. Where the coordinates match, edit the IDF so that the attribute used is the same as the one that is specified in the .opt or .pos file.

Accepts the name of the .opt file or the .pos file in single quotes:

MAP-ATTRIBUTES-BY-POSITION 'c:\sample\sample.opt'
