10.1

The content of engineering requisitions can change in different ways:

  • Material quantity increases or decreases

  • Documentation attachments change

  • Material attribute information changes.

A change to any of the above requires a new requisition supplement to be generated and the information passed to the supplier.

To track the changes on a requisition, there is a supplement and two revision indicators. The supplement is the main indication that the requisition has been changed whereas the revision indicators show whether the change has been to material quantities or documentation.

In the example in the picture below, supplement 1 has a different MR rev (1) but the same SR rev (0) as the previous supplement. These revisions indicate that quantities have not been changed but the attached documentation has changed.

The revision indicators are set differently depending on the requisition type. For inquiry only requisitions (Purchase indicator not selected), characters are used to increment the revision (A, B, C, D….). For purchase requisitions, numbers are used for the revision (0, 1, 2, 3….).
