Purpose
This section explains how to configure the pre-settings needed to work with the E&PI(BOM) module. General settings are defined by means of DBA settings, and project specific settings are defined by means of the project defaults.
Exercise

Open the DBA Settings screen from the menu Home > Administration > Global Setup.

Check the following settings on the Database Settings. Correct the values if necessary. The Active indicator in Grid Setting Values must be set to Yes.

If you have entered or modified values, save the changes, and then navigate to Administration > Global Setup > Projects Defaults screen.

On Project Defaults, the login project TRAINPROJ should be displayed in the first Grid. If not, click the Query
button and select the project from the list.

Click the Bill of Materials to display the project defaults relevant for the BOM module.

Double-click in the Value field of project default ZB_1MSTR to open the LOV, select Y, and click OK to close the LOV and copy the selected value to the Value field. In the same way, set the following project defaults:

Save the changes, and then navigate to BOM User View.

Click Add Row button and enter the name of the new view ‘TRAIN-PIP’ in the View Name field and the description ‘TRAIN-PIP’ in the Short Desc and Description fields, and View Type Discipline Specific. Save the changes.

In the second (Properties) grid add the Properties as following:

Change the sequence number in the Ord Seq field as needed, and then save the view properties.
