When you copy an import definition, the export mappings for that import definition are also copied by default, if they are available. Use the Export mappings copy behavior when exists list in the Import page of the Data Validator System Options to define the copying behavior for the export mappings. If export mappings are not available for that import definition, a new copy of the export mappings is created.

  • Select the required behavior for copying the export mappings from the Export mappings copy behavior when exists list.

    • Create new export mappings – Select this option if objects with the same names already exist in the target system export mapping. To avoid overriding of the existing export map object configuration, new export map objects are created in the target export map, incrementing the existing object names. For example, if the object name in the target export mapping is HEXSDASite, the object name in the new export mapping is incremented to HEXSDASite1.

    • Update existing export mappings – if you want to use the latest export map configuration from the source, you can use this option. The existing export mappings in the target system are overridden by applying the latest export mapping information.

Object weights are set to zero for both options and you will have to set the object weights in the Stage to Target Object Map pane in the Export Mapping pane.
