Use the List Management Console's advanced mode to configure lists with list management capability. This means that List Edit control users can save a list as a list document. Users can attach the list items to an existing list document or use the list of items to create a new list document.
Users can also open the List Edit control from the shortcut menu of a list document to edit the list attached to the document.

After the list is saved as a document, users can snapshot the document. This creates both a viewable file and the publishable file at the same time. The document can then be reviewed and published, and the user knows exactly what was published even if the data is changing in the meantime.
