The Auto Signed Off status applies to steps that have not been approved interactively but have been accepted automatically. For example, if a step being rejected or accepted results in a second revision of the workflow, the first step to be used in the revised workflow may not be the actual first step in the next workflow. All steps before the selected first step in the next, or revised, workflow are set to the Auto Signed Off status.

Select View on the Details for workflow template window. Any steps before the rejected step, which have not been approved, display as automatically signed off.
