  1. Right-click the plant, then click Publish PBS on the shortcut menu.

You cannot publish multiple PBS documents simultaneously.

  2. If the SmartPlant Foundation Login dialog box appears, type the appropriate username and password, and click OK.

The SmartPlant Foundation Login dialog box appears only if your operating system username does not have access to perform this operation in SmartPlant Foundation.

  3. If this is the first time the PBS document will be published, select the revision scheme you want to use from the Revision Scheme list box.

  4. Click OK.

  • Your Create/Update Scope must be set the plant before you can publish the PBS document.

  • The PBS document must be attached to a workflow that has a load step. The PBS document must be loaded successfully in SmartPlant Foundation for tools to retrieve it.

  • The SmartPlant Schema file must be checked into SmartPlant Foundation when you publish. If the publish operation fails, contact your SmartPlant Foundation system administrator to make sure the SmartPlant Schema is checked into SmartPlant Foundation.

  • You can publish a PBS document to a different plant in the same site or a different site. When this is configured, you will be prompted to choose a site and a plant to publish the PBS document, after step 3 in this procedure. To be able to publish a PBS document to a different plant:

    • The plant must be registered for integration.

    • The PBS authoring domain must be configured by a system administrator so that you can select the target site and plant during the publish of the PBS document. For more information, see Register and publish the PBS.

  • To override the default name of the PBS document, override the Publish Document method provided on the IEFAdapter interface. For more information about the IEFAdapter, see SmartPlant Adapter Interfaces.

SHARED Tip When publish is complete, you can click View Log to review details of the operation.
