The Create Renditions In Batch command converts all supported file types to Content Sealed Format (.csf), Portable Document Format (.pdf), Portable Network Graphics (.png), 2D WebGL viewer file (.vecz), or 3D WebGL viewer file (.binz) file viewing formats. The rendition file is attached to the document, along with the original file, and its revision and version information is managed by the same document.

  • Click File > Create Renditions In Batch.

  • Your administrator must relate the file type of the selected files to the target file type, FT_csf, FT_pdf, FT_png, FT_vecz, or FT_binz.

  • Your administrator may configure view renditions and alternate renditions to include related markups, watermarks, and labels.

  • If an XML file with the same name as a non-published Smart 3D model file is attached to a design document, a label database file (.mdb2) is automatically generated in addition to the 3D WebGL viewer file (.binz). The label database file (.mdb2) is required for searching tags in a non-published Smart 3D model file using the Web Client. The Show hidden files option in the Change User Preferences dialog box must be selected to show label database files in the Desktop Client.

Generating renditions in batch is a time-consuming process. When you launch the command, a scheduled task (BatchRendTask-FT_csf, BatchRendTask-FT_pdf, BatchRendTask-FT_png, BatchWebFileGenTask-FT_vecz, or BatchWebFileGenTask-FT_binz) is created, and a notification is generated when the task is processed. Right-click the notification in the List of Notifications, and select View Log File to view a summary log created with the batch request. The log shows the number of submitted files with a list of any failed files.

SHARED Tip More details can be viewed by opening the SmartPlant Foundation server log (use the RemoteServices trace switch), the SmartPlant Foundation remote services log, the SmartPlant Markup log, or the SmartPlant Markup Server Status page.

The default timeout value for processing the conversion is 300 seconds. If the scheduled task processes with a timed-out failure message, your administrator might need to configure your settings. For more information, see Create and view batch renditions.
