Before implementing a CDW, verify that your computer has the following software:

  • SmartPlant Foundation 2019

The following are some of the scenarios that describe the various SPO/E CDW implementations:

For versions of SmartPlant Foundation prior to 4.3.3, CDW is installed when importing the SmartPlant Foundation dump file. However, as most of the delivered SmartPlant Foundation CDW definitions are not used, they must be removed before loading SPO/E CDW definitions.

Scenario 1: An existing SPO/E Core implementation has the default SmartPlant Foundation CDW definitions installed, but does not include any existing CDW data.

  1. Set CDWEnabled to True in the web.config file located at :[installation directory]\SmartPlant Foundation Server Files\Web_Sites\[sitename].

  2. Run appropriate SQL scripts to delete all the delivered SmartPlant Foundation CDW schema and mappings.

  3. Load SPO/E Core CDW information using the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client's Loader.

  4. Use the SmartPlant Foundation Reconsolidation Utility to reconsolidate all published documents.

Scenario 2: An existing SPO/E Core implementation has the default SmartPlant Foundation CDW definitions installed and includes some existing CDW data based on the delivered SmartPlant Foundation CDW.

  1. Set CDWEnabled to True in the web.config file located at :[installation directory]\SmartPlant Foundation Server Files\Web_Sites\[sitename].

  2. Run appropriate SQL scripts to delete all the delivered SmartPlant Foundation CDW schema and mappings.

  3. Load SPO/E Core CDW information using the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client's Loader.

  4. Use the SmartPlant Foundation Reconsolidation Utility to reconsolidate all published documents.

Scenario 3: An existing SPO/E Core implementation has the SmartPlant Foundation CDW definitions installed with or without any existing CDW data.

  1. Verify if CDWEnabled is set to True in SmartPlant Foundation Server Manager.

  2. Use the SmartPlant Foundation Reconsolidation Utility to reconsolidate all published documents.

    • This scenario is valid for SmartPlant Foundation 4.3.3 and later

    • The SmartPlant Foundation out-of-the-box DMP file for SmartPlant Foundation 4.3.3 does not contain the SmartPlant Foundation CDW schema & mappings.

The SmartPlant Foundation Reconsolidation Utility software is used for remodeling and remapping the data, removing all existing shared objects or CDW objects and their comprised of relationships, extracting all the published documents in the order they were originally published, and reconsolidating each of them one at a time.
