If the tags do not already exist in the SmartPlant Master Tag Registry database, you can use the data sheet to create the tags and provide the technical details.
-
Click Find > Datalist Definitions, and search for the MTR authored data list definitions.
-
Right-click a data list definition, and click Generate MTR Datasheet Template.
-
Select a location where you want to save the data sheet.
-
In the File name box, type a name for the data sheet, and then click Save.
-
By default, the data sheet name is saved as <Datalist definition name><(Template file name)> in .xlsm format. For example, the instrument type data sheet name is saved as MTRAuthoredInstrumentDLD (SPMTRAuthoredInstrumentTemplate).
-
The data sheet can be accessed, reviewed, and edited by other users without using SmartPlant Foundation. The file can be moved as necessary.
-
-
Browse to the downloaded data sheet created, and open it using Microsoft Excel.
-
Send the generated Microsoft Excel file to the vendor for them to enter all their tag details.
