Problem

All markup layers are included when generating an alternate rendition, even when an edge definition is used. For example, markup layers from other owning groups are included even if an edge definition is used to return specified layers.

Solution

When an alternate rendition is generated, all markup layers are copied to a working directory location used by the system to create the rendition. If the SPFRemoteServices user does not have read and write access to the location where these files are managed, unwanted markup layers cannot be deleted by the system when the rendition is generated.

To include only those markup layers that meet the criteria specified by the edge definition, the SPFRemoteServices user must be allowed to delete all layers from that location that do not meet those criteria.

To avoid this problem, perform the following steps:

  1. Grant SPFRemoteServices read and write access to the location where SmartPlant Markup Plus stores the markup layers for generating alternate renditions (the default location is C:\ProgramData\SmartPlant\Markup\Markups).

  2. Clear the markup layers that were previously used to generate the alternate rendition.

  3. Regenerate the alternate rendition.
