When should I activate a reserved document?

You need to activate a reserved document if you want to use it.

  1. Right-click the reserved document that you want to make active, and click Activate.

  2. In the Activate dialog box, select the document type.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Select an owning group from the Item owning group list.

  5. Select a revision scheme from the Revision scheme list, and set the Major revision and Minor revision values.

  6. Click Next.

  7. If required, attach a file to a document by clicking Add File.

  8. Browse to the file that you want to attach, and click Open.

    If opening the Attach File dialog box for the first time, the Delete local files option is selected by default. If you clear the Delete local files option, the selection is saved to the local system as the default.

  9. Click Finish. The status of the document changes from RESERVED_INACTIVE to RESERVED.

SHARED Tip You can attach multiple files to the reserved document by repeating these steps.
