There are multiple ways to search for SPO/E Core objects in the Desktop Client, based on detailed information about the object, the name of the object, and the object type.
In addition to the Quick Find and Query feature, you can also use the Binocular Search 
feature for searching SPO/E Core objects. Binocular Search combines both the Quick Find and Query features into a single dialog box.

Click the Binocular Search
icon on the toolbar.

Select an object you want to search for from Select item from the list.

Type the object's name and description into the Name and Description boxes respectively.

Click Send to new list to display the search results as a new list or click Send to active list to append the search results to an existing search results list.

Click Find to display the search results.
To search objects using additional search criteria, click Advanced Query.
