Problems

One or more of the following problems occur while viewing composite 3D documents:

• Cannot select certain plant items to view the properties.

• The wrong properties are displayed when selecting a plant item.

• Some graphics are automatically selected that are not associated with a plant item after clicking View Item in Model and selecting a composite 3D document.

Possible Cause

These problems can occur if you are viewing composite 3D documents in SmartPlant Foundation versions 2016 or later that were created using SmartPlant Foundation versions 2014 R3 and earlier.

Solution

You must have SmartPlant Foundation 2016 or later and SmartPlant Markup Plus 2016 or later installed.

Create a new composite 3D document:

1. Click Find > Composite 3D Documents to search for the problematic composite 3D document.

2. Right-click the composite 3D document and select Show Published Documents.

3. Click File > New > Composite 3D Document to create a new composite 3D document.

4. Select all of the published documents, then drag the documents to the new composite 3D document.

5. Verify that the new composite 3D document is properly working and delete the problematic composite 3D document.
