You can change the sequence that any attribute is displayed in the grid view and in sections on dynamic forms by modifying the sequence. You can also show attributes in context with other similar attributes by grouping them together.

In order for any dynamic form sections to reflect attribute sequence changes, the Use Form Sequence Override option must be selected in the system options. The display items in dynamic sections are re-sequenced according to any changes. For more information on the system options, see Configure the system options.

To set the sequence for attribute column items:

1. In the main toolbar, click Set sequence or section for attributes in the current tree .

2. In the Set attribute sequence or tab dialog box, use the or arrows to move the attributes up or down in the sequence or click or to move the attribute to the top or to the bottom of the order.

   For example, in the following image the attribute DEVTagCategory has been moved up to sequence number 12 and DEVYMD has been moved down to sequence number 16.

   

3. Click Auto Set Sequence and the attributes are set in the new sequence.

4. Click OK.

Group attributes by section name

Every attribute applied to a dynamic section appears with a tab name entry in the Section Name column. You can move and group attributes together that are used on the same section.

Add a section name

If an attribute is not assigned to a dynamic section, you can choose a tab name that already exists by clicking the corresponding cell in Section Name column, and selecting a tab name from the list.

Allocating an attribute to a dynamic section controls where the attribute appears on a dynamic form in the Desktop Client.

Create a new dynamic section

SmartPlant Attribution Manager does not support the modification of dynamic sections for documents.

If an attribute is not assigned to a dynamic section, you can create a new dynamic section so it appears in the list of entries in the Section Name column:

1. Click Create Section.

2. Type the details in the Section Name, Section Display As, and Tab Name boxes.

   The Tab Name can be used in the attribute grid to group attributes together that are used in the same dynamic section. For more information, see Explore the query results grid view.

3. Click OK.

   The new section appears in the Section Name column drop-down list.

The attributes are sorted in the grid view to the sequence order set using the Sequence option in the Sort section. For more information, see Sort the attribute grid.
