Once you have created access groups to organize method access, relationship maintenance, and relationship definition access, you can group multiple access groups together into roles to expose them to users.

Click File > New > Administration > Role in the Desktop Client.

Type a name and description for the new role.
Role management
To manage which role assignments a user can make, there is a relationship between roles. Users can make role assignments to roles that their roles manage, either directly or indirectly. For example, a document controller can make role assignments to the engineer's role. The super user role is the top role.
The Create and Update forms for a role have display items for selecting the roles that manage that role and the roles managed by that role.
When you create a new role, be sure to link it to the roles that can manage it; otherwise, it will not be possible to assign users to the new role.
