What are work packages?

Work packages are containers that can be transferred to the Facility Data Warehouse using the managed data tasks. Work packages content varies depending upon the location of both staging and approval domains, the details of which are given below:

Same site

Documents to be transferred.

Different sites

Documents, tags, and other business objects to be transferred using Data Validator.

What do I use work packages for?

You can use work packages to organize the data that you want to transfer before running the managed data task.

Using work packages, you can also do the following:

  • View the relationships of the documents.

  • Apply a revision scheme to the selected documents.

Create a new work package for managed data tasks

  1. Log on to Data Capture Task Manager module.

  2. Click Managed Data Tasks.

  3. On the Work Packages page, click Create Work Packages .

  4. Select a column set associated with document from the Filter by list.

  5. Type the search keyword in the Filter Value box, and click Search.

  6. Select one or more documents from the Data Capture Data pane, and click Export to FDW domain to move the documents to the FDW Ready Documents pane.

    • You can also click View Document Relationships to view the relationships of the document in the Resolve Relationships module.

    • Select one or more documents in the FDW Ready Documents pane, and click Configure Document Revision Scheme Configure_Document_RevisionScheme to apply a revision scheme to the selected documents.

  7. Click Save.

Create a new work package for Data Validator transfer

  1. On the Work Packages page, click Create Work Packages .

  2. Select the Create Work Package for Data Validator Transfer check box.

  3. Select a business object from the Business Objects list.

  4. Select a column set associated with document from the Filter by list.

  5. Type the search keyword in the Filter Value box, and click Search.

  6. Select one or more documents from the Data Capture Data pane, and click Export to FDW domain to move the selected documents to the FDW Ready Documents pane.

    • You can also click View Document Relationships to view the relationships of the document in the Resolve Relationships module.

    • Select one or more documents in the FDW Ready Documents pane, and click Configure Document Revision Scheme Configure_Document_RevisionScheme to apply a revision scheme to the selected documents.

  7. On the Tags tab, select one or more tags from the Data Capture Data pane, and click Export to FDW domain to move the selected tags to the FDW Ready Documents pane.

  8. On the Others tab, select one or more business objects from the Data Capture Data pane, and click Export to FDW domain to move the selected business objects to the FDW Ready Documents pane.

  9. Click Save.
