You must create a SPFFileTypeFileType relationship definition between the source file type and PDF file type before you can generate PDF files automatically or by using batch rendition, shortcut menu commands, or workflow steps.

Log on to the Desktop Client on the SmartPlant Foundation application server.

Click Find > Administration > File Type

In the Name box, type * and click OK.

Drag the source file type objects to the pdf file type object.

Click Maintain Attributes on the New Relationship dialog box.

In the Alternate rendition application box, type dmredl -p obj.Name -pdf $OUTPUTDIR.

Click OK.
