It is sometimes necessary to distribute files, for example, those attached to a transmittal to users who are outside of SmartPlant Foundation. These files must be copied on to the file system in a format that can be burned to a CD-ROM or DVD for distribution.
Other objects can also be exported to the hard drive, for example, archiving of vaults.
This process is also used by file archiving as described in How to Configure the Document Schema.
The scheduler retrieves export tasks from the SmartPlant Foundation database and calls methods defined on the task to export and compress.
Export and compress process

Copy all files (except non-editable and non-viewable) to the location identified on the method.

Create directories for each business object.

Create directory names with unique keys of the business objects.

Generate a report of the exported object, for example, the transmittal using report definitions identified on the method.
