The role that the user has logged in to determines the information that is displayed in the property grid when an object is selected. The system looks for a view definition on the most specific interface of the shared object. If one is not found, then all the data is returned. To further control which view definition is selected, the system filters view definitions based on owning groups related to the object’ interface. The view definition is filtered out if the interface is related an owning group that is not in the user’s role.
The properties grid displays all the data that it finds in the view definition in all of the published domains that comprise that shared object. Where inconsistencies are found, multiple values for the properties are displayed.
