To export data by container ID, you can use the Export by Container command or the Query by Container command.

Export by container

  1. Click File > Export by Container. The Export by Container dialog box appears.

You can filter by domain, selected containers, container wildcards, and the class of object to export.

  2. Select Original if you want the data exported in NLF format. If Original is not selected, the data is exported in XML format.

  3. Click Export or Apply. The Browse for Folder dialog box appears. Select a location to save the file containing the exported data.

Query by container

  1. Click Query > Query by Container.

The Query by Container form is displayed.

  2. Run the query.

  3. In the list view of results, right-click an object (or multi-select objects), and click Export Data on the shortcut menu. The Export Data form is displayed.

  4. Select the data to be exported and click Export.

You can use the Exclude objects by container box to filter the data to be exported.

SHARED Tip If you select a container ID in the Exclude objects by container list after you have selected objects in the tree, the software clears your selections in the tree view. You must reselect the objects that you want to export in the tree view after excluding by container ID.

When you export by container, the system does the following:

    • Creates a file for ADMIN_, SCHEMA_, and DATA_.

    • Creates a file for each container in a directory for the layer.
