The system can be set up to implicitly claim objects. This means that it is not necessary for you to use the Claim command on an object. If an action is invoked that requires an object to be claimed, the user may or may not be notified in this mode, depending on their settings. They do not see the validation dialog box.
You can configure the system to require explicit claiming, which prevents anyone from implicitly claiming objects. For more information, see Force explicit claim (before edit).
