The process called Merging is when an object is created or changed in a lower configuration, and it is moved up into the parent configuration when it is complete.
When a lower configuration object is merged up to the parent configuration, the object at the parent configuration is updated with the values and relationships from the lower configuration object. Any related items may be automatically merged depending on the relationship configuration in the schema.
You can create a method using the MergeableItemSummary Client API to create a summary of items in a lower configuration that are ready to
be merged to a higher configuration or plant. For more information on generating a mergeable item summary, see MergeableItemSummary client API.
