You only need to perform this procedure if you have exported your sites before upgrade instead of enabling the Keep Sites During Uninstallation option in Server Manager. If you have kept your sites, all the sites you had before the upgrade remain after the upgrade. For information on exporting sites for upgrade, see Export site configurations.

When you import a configuration from a previous version of SmartPlant Foundation, you must edit the configuration file to modify the path locations to match the new version's server location. For example, the product installation paths no longer contain a folder for the year/version.

You can import a saved configuration file that preserves the site settings for all the nodes in Server Manager or for a single node.

  1. Before importing the configuration, reset the IIS server to force the performance of all maintenance operations on the reconfigured web site, such as the deletion of old folders.

  2. To import Server Manager configuration settings for all the nodes in the tree view, select the SmartPlant Foundation Server Manager node and then click File > Import Configuration.

SHARED Tip To import configuration settings for just a specific node, select the node and then select File > Import Configuration.

  3. Browse to the location of the configuration file and click Open.

SHARED Tip You can also import a saved configuration using the Server Manager command from the command line. Use ServerManager.exe with the /import argument to import a site configuration.

This example imports a configuration from a file named T1.config.

Servermanager.exe /import C:\temp\T1.config
