Update a site - SmartPlant Foundation - IM Update 47 - Installation & Upgrade

The Server Manager Tools > Update Site command updates all the files for the site with the latest files in the installation location.

Click Tools > Update Site to update the selected site.

You can also right-click the selected site and click Tools > Update Site on the shortcut menu.

Stored procedures

If you have created your site with an Oracle database, you will be prompted to load the database scripts for stored procedures. Stored procedures are required to run Data Validator jobs. They are database scripts that create custom tables in the database to process the data in CSV files while running jobs.

For Oracle database

1. Click Yes to load the database scripts.

2. In the Enter Database Credentials dialog box, type the database username and password to which you are connecting.

3. Click OK.

4. In the Select Tablespaces dialog box, select the tablespace names from the Data Tablespace and Index Tablespace lists to load the database scripts for the Oracle database.

For SQL Server database

1. Click Yes to load the database scripts.

2. In the Select Filegroups dialog box, select the filegroup names from the Data Filegroup and Index Filegroup lists to load the database scripts for the SQL Server database.

The Update Site command updates a site as a primary site, which creates the new configuration and cache services if those are not present and updates the web.config file.

When you update a site, some of the module-specific configuration files are deleted from the site and replaced with SmartPlant Foundation equivalent files available at the installation location. The following configuration files are affected.
