If you had configured batch printing or PDF generation (or both), you must restore your configuration after installing the new version of SmartPlant Foundation. This procedure should be performed after your sites have been updated.

For information on configuring batch printing, see Configure batch printing. For information on configuring PDF generation, see Set up PDF generation.

  1. Determine the user name and password used as the Identity for the Remote Services application pool for your sites in Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

The default user name is SPFRemoteServices. When a site is created or updated, this user account is assigned as the Identity for the site's remote services application pool in IIS.

The Load User Profile property for each remote services application pool must be set to True, which is the default setting.

  2. Add this user to the Administrators group on the server.

  3. Interactively log in to the application server as this user, open a Microsoft Office application, and complete the Office software activation and user configuration process for the user.

  4. Ensure that the user group SPFUsers has access the remote services user's temporary folder with Modify rights enabled.

The folder is located at C:\Users\SPFRemoteServices\AppData\Local\Temp by default.

  5. For batch printing, for each existing printer group, change the URL that points to the print service so that it points to the location of the remote services folder for the site. (For example, http://Computer Name/SPFSiteRemoteSvc/PrintService.asmx.)
